Those who are trying to build up their bulk are some of the most aware about physical fitness on the entire planet. In their desire to develop their body to the fullest, those who are engaged with weight training get to know more about fitness than what they set out to find out at first. Despite this great amount of awareness in their minds about what the body needs and what is superfluous, there are still some questions that remain unsettled for some people. There are still an ongoing debate about these issues right now.
One such question that is being debated on for some time now is whether swimming after weight training is of any good. There has been a couple of great answers to this and the main objection that some people have against swimming right after weight training is that blood will pumped up to the different parts of the body during and right after swimming. That will stop the muscles from developing fully. Another argument against swimming is that since it is a very good workout for the whole body, even better than running, it will make you burn a lot more calories. That is something that you do not want to do when you are building up on bulk because its just like throwing away the precious materials that your body needs in order to rebuild itself.
Those who are for swimming right after weight training have several arguments going for them as well. To counter the claim that swimming will be such an effective calorie burner they say that that indeed is true. Swimming is in fact an effective way of burning up calories but since it is an effective way of exercising our body it also means that we get a hungry a lot easier because of it and so we eat more than what we intend to. That would mean even more calories to be converted into muscle mass when we start doing weight training again.
Another benefit of swimming right after doing some weights is that it will reduce the inflammation that weight training would cause by the increased pumping of blood all throughout the body. It will also help in buffering the lactic acid which is the main cause of the soreness and pain that we feel after every vigorous workout. Now if swimming is something that can stop all that then surely it will be beneficial to someone who is doing exercises.
The truth is that swimming right after doing some weight training is very good for the body. The muscles develop when they are rebuilt by the body after they are torn during weight training. Swimming will not and can not undo the tearing on the muscles. So hopefully the conception that swimming should be avoided by those who are trying to build their bulk should be avoided because it is primarily built on the wrong conception. We must use all of the resources that we have in order to discover the right methods for developing our body.
