People take up exercising for different reasons. The majority starts working out in order to lose weight. There is an argument going on today about this. Some people say that bodyweight exercise will not help to build muscle mass. In some ways this is actually true. If what you really want is to have huge muscle bound arms and a heavy weight look about you then what you need to do is to engage in some heavy duty weight training exercise. A bodyweight regimen can result in a body filled with lean and well defined muscles. This is actually better than a body so choked up with muscles.
Problem with Bodyweight Training- The things with bodyweight training exercise like push ups is that your body soon becomes adapted to it. You become too strong for the routine to have any real effects. Doing such an exercise will not make your muscles tap into their full growing potential.
High Volume- What you can do is to make sure that your muscles will be challenged. Go for a high volume of work out and then start lifting weights that are heavy to ensure that the muscles will be strained. Keep the rest periods brief. This s the kind of workout that you can try:
1. Let’s pick one bodyweight exercise like push up as an example.
2. Do 3 reps of that exercise then rest for a 10 second period.
3.When you feel that it’s getting a lot tougher to finish the 3 reps then you can double the stretch of the rest period. Do that each time that you feel its getting difficult to finish the reps, add 10 more seconds to the rest period each time.
4. Go on with doing this for a 15 minute period.
You can perform this routine with any bodyweight training exercise and you can do the same using a weight training training. This kind of set up will ensure that you will be pushing your muscles to the limit without straining them too much. Remember that rest is just as important with the exercise that you will be doing. You have to make sure that you will be getting an ample amount of rest when you decide to engage in this kind of training.
